Ending the
Cycle of Revenge

by Drunvalo

A billion years of evolution, and the very survival of humanity and all life on this planet has boiled down to the yes-or-no question of whether we can end the cycle of revenge.

If we do, then we have a chance, and we can repair the world's environment and heal humanity's pain. It won't take all of us doing this. We need just a few. A "critical mass." We need you.

But even beyond this lofty ideal, we need forgiveness for ourselves. Here is a true story that illustrates what I mean:

It was a workshop on anger management. "Rick" was in the hot seat, making eyes-closed contact with his subconscious and reporting the results. It all came down to this: He had fallen years before and hurt his back. Since then he'd been going to one doctor after another, but none could find anything wrong. Now, hobbling around in constant pain, he was enraged at the entire medical profession. The fact that he'd caused his own condition through carelessness had somehow become invisible.

The workshop facilitator said, "Okay, Rick, let me ask you a question. If you could be totally free of pain just by forgiving the doctors, would you do it? Really look inside and see if you would be willing to make that trade."

Rick "looked inside" for a long time, then shook his head. "No," he said softly. Then, belligerently and with great determination, "NO!"

One can wonder if Rick ever came to realize how much he served the group that day. Everyone "got it." Forgiveness is for ourselves. What did the medical profession care about Rick's hostility?

So if learning forgiveness "to change our world" seems like too big a task right now — do it for yourself! If you want to do that, this issue will inspire and assist you.

In these pages, you will learn the "good news": that if you are willing to lift your consciousness into a place of compassion and forgiveness, you will be far from alone. And you will have help. There are many, many people to light your way, amazing people everywhere searching for solutions, experimenting with the ancient and the new, changing and healing the world through the way they are living their lives and the bold programs they are creating.

You will read about the beautiful work of great people like Ibrahim Abuelhawa, a Palestinian Muslim, and Eliyahu McLean, an Israeli Jew, who are friends and live in peace with each other although their cultures are violently at war, and who travel the world together to tell us that the horrors in our media are not the important story. I honor these men. Their hearts know the truth of life.

You will learn about Bob DeSena, who belonged to a gang and was involved in violent crime, but now transforms inner city gangs and schools to understanding the power of unity, caring, and family; Barbarba Marx Hubbard, the futurist who once ran for President of the United States and continues to search for answers in the human heart; Gene Knudsen Hoffman, whose Compassionate Listening program is used by people and governments worldwide to understand both sides of a conflict and bring it to peaceful resolution; and the Heartmath Institute, revisiting our pages to suggest tools we can use to access the wisdom of the heart and lead ourselves out of the cycle of revenge.

In the end, I personally believe, along with the great souls who contributed their knowledge and vision to this issue, that when our hearts and our heads connect, it will be the next great step in human evolution. This heart connection will create a Light that dispels forever the darkness of revenge, war, and pain.

Know that the vision you will find in these pages is largely missing from CNN and CBS and the other mass media. Yet it is this vision that is going to make the difference. It can change the matrix of the human dilemma into one of peaceful coexistence.

It is time for us — you and me — to begin to see through the eyes of those we call enemies and find out why they hate us. Or even to forgive them without knowing why. For the future of our world need not be determined by those chaotic souls who still linger in the desire for retribution. We — you and I — have the power to change that future.

As Dr. John Hagelin explains, the future really is up to those of us who understand the power of the heart. The scientific evidence is in: It will take only a relatively small number of us, working together, to change the Unified Field of human consciousness to one of Love and Light.

In love and service,

Drunvalo
