If the name of Avalon stirs something inside you and you feel some kind of recognition, then is most likely that you have been there before in another life or in your dreams. The quest for Avalon, which is connected to finding the holy grail, has been going on for centuries and even today seekers from all over the world want to connect to this mystical realm. It represents the journey to the heart of who we truly are. The mists of Avalon can reveal your true treasure if you are willing to receive it. If Avalon is calling you, it is time to find her and connect to your true nature. This is the time for the female energy of Avalon to resonate into the world and guide us with the changes of consiousness that are taking place as we speak.
There are many theories as to where the exact location of Avalon is. Some believe Avalon is at Glastonbury in the South west of the United Kingdom. Some say it is in Sicily or in Brittany. Others believe that St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall is Avalon. Avalon is a mythical place and can only be found in the heart. It can be where ever you feel it is and there are places in the world, which seem to have that Avalon energy: a loving , embracing energy which is unconditional. For me it is connected to Glastonbury and there are many interesting descriptions in myths and legends that have made a connection between Glastonbury and Avalon.
However at this point in time that does not seem to matter much, because it is not about proving where Avalon is located, it is about embracing her energy. We need to integrate her energy into our daily lives and for that purpose Avalon is now calling you. It is time to find your holy grail and that is you. You are the golden chalice filled with endless opportunities and talents. You are the pure expression of Mother Nature and it is her heart that is connected to your own. If you listen closely you will hear her heartbeat, just step out into nature and there you will be able to connect to her easily. Avalon is about purity and integrity, in all aspects or our being. It is about beauty to behold in all that is in you and outside you. Avalon is about many things, but they all come down to one word: Love!
The question that is asked often is: Is Avalon for real or just a myth? According to writer Edain McCoy in her book "Celtic Women's Spirituality" myths are maps for solving mysteries. They provide us with the codes to crack their secrets. Myths can be deciphered in ways that help us in our personal development and growth. As soon as we have solved a mystery then obviously it is no longer a mystery and we then absorb its meaning into our being. So a myth is not some made up story or superstition but instead it discloses life-changing core truths. Myths provide us with answers to our spirituality and our role in society. In the twentieth century, there has been a resurgence of pagan (heathen) traditions and women especially have rediscovered their roles as priestesses, goddesses or spiritual warriors. They have given it a modern twist and shaped it in their own way to fulfill their own needs. They have heard Avalon calling and respond from the heart.
We can see that the ways of the old are returning to our Western world. After initially finding it in materialism, contemporary woman and man are realising that something important is missing in her or his life; the conclusion follows that it is to be found inside themselves. The lessons of life of druids, shamans and priestesses have proven that these are excellent ways to find your magical self. Even science is proving that magic exists and that there is much more than we have thought to be possible. We are connected with each other, there is abundance and the paranormal is actually very normal. Everything is energy and if we start seeing ourselves as energetic beings and not only as physical ones, then alone we start to experience the magic of the universe consciously. Avalon is a gateway to this magic and is a symbol for the loving energy that surrounds us.
If you feel you have been called and would like to experience the Celtic Avalon, we invite you to journey with us to the old Celtic sites where you can experience the Avalon energy. We travel to Glastonbury, Cornwall and Avebury and will connect to the spirit of these places. For more information please visit our website: www.manontromp.com/Manon_Tromp:English
