Riding The Wave Of The New Age

By Julia Griffin

If the Age of Aquarius offers the experience of group enlightenment, brother (or sister) hood, and cooperation, why are we having difficulty with it? Shouldn't it be easy and fun?

The archives of time recount the previous Golden Ages, including Atlantis, Egypt with her pyramids, and the Mayan culture, and also prophesize that the Age of Aquarius may be the most glorious of all. The hope is that earth's light level will reach quantum mass so that our wisdom and enlightenment will shine through all of time, with an apex of light manifested on earth, creating a dimensional time shift known as "heaven on earth".

The Mayan calendar calls this "the end of time", and the book of Revelations hints that this is the time of the apocalypse. Apocalypse simply meant "the revelation of hidden things by God" before the movement of the Christianity in the 2nd century.1

All manifestation and co-creation culminate with the release of patterns and integration of the ego. It is then that we find a previously, hidden underlying truth within our Being. The meaning of the word occult is hidden from the eye, secret, or concealed. When we perceive the truth with our hidden eye (the true self, the third eye), enlightenment is entrusted to us in accordance to our ability to perceive.

The study of metaphysics reveals that all endings are related to new beginning. The ouroboros, the symbolic snake devouring its tail, represents duality or the concept that death and life, beginnings and endings are all one. Nothing in the material world can come to an end without creating a new Beginning.

Currently, we're in transition between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius or between a dark age based on materialism into a more enlightened age based on humanistic values. While the internal structure may already exist, individual change is needed to manifest the energies into form. It's well documented that the human psyche finds change, even the most positive changes — such as moving, marrying, or changing jobs — to be difficult.

In any manifestation, there is a shift between the attachment to the stability of the old and the attraction to the new. Eventually, we let go of the old reality and shift into the new one, but a feeling of pressure and resistance often accompany the shift. It's helpful to remember that negative feelings and thoughts are associated with the ego, not the soul.

The Wave

It's also helpful to remember that energy of change tends to come in waves, and that the wave will pass, even if it takes a few days. By observing closely, we know that there are two kinds of waves. One is gentle and grounding; the other is like a tidal wave, wiping out all that is not in alignment with our souls.

By lowering our brain waves, we can connect to the spiritual world and disengage from the negativity in outer world. High beta waves tend to foster feelings of anxiety and to connect us with mass consciousness, making it more likely that we connect with fear and discomfort. Meditation, yoga, and intuitive activities can link our consciousness with the lower brainwaves, which connect us with the Divine.

During the day, we commonly experience beta brainwaves, which are rapid and occur at about 13-40 cycles per second. Beta waves are associated with waking activities. (High beta waves are known to induce criminal behavior and violent emotions or actions.)

Alpha waves range from 8-14 cycles per second and are associated with day dreaming and light meditation. Theta waves range from 4-7 cycles per second, and they correspond with intuitive activity and creativity. Delta waves are associated with deep sleep and range from ? to 4 cycles per second.

Exercise:

1) When feeling disoriented, tired or anxious, meditate on light, the center of the Universe or your perception of the Divine for a few minutes. This will alleviate tension.

2) Focus now on a past memory that is associated with a walk on the beach or in the woods, a pleasant afternoon, the feeling of having completed a yoga or Tai Chi sequence, or waking up to a beautiful morning. Focus on it so deeply that the feeling flows through your body and mind.

3) Let the memory flow through each part of your consciousness. Make it more real than the present moment. Notice the waves of relaxation and release.

4) Come back to the present when you finish the exercise and practice this "feeling" every two or three hours. It will become easier with practice and create a calm that stays within the body.

5) When the mind or emotions wander back to a problem or negative feeling, simply say aloud or silently, "Please align me with low alpha (or theta waves.) Your body and mind are already familiar with the brainwaves and this state of consciousness. With a few days of practice, you will begin to master the art of slowing the brainwaves so that you can create a more relaxed state of being.

Mass Consciousness

Mass consciousness profoundly affects our perceptions. It is used to control many world events, mainly through media (see www.spiritofmaat.com/nov09/group_consciousness.html). Co-creation can be used in a fairly simple format when employed on a low level of consciousness that engages the ego and lower emotions.

On a personal level, mass consciousness tends to affect us most when in the midst of a manifesting a positive change. When this happens, we experience sudden feelings of fear, discouragement or hopelessness. We might think, "Why am I doing this? It takes so much time, and/or it will never work."

Mass consciousness has its place in our evolution. We are touched by our identification with the mass subconscious whenever the vibrations of our field descend. We descend through identification with the thoughts of other people, messages on the web, news forecasts when we disconnect or forget our connection with the light.

Many of us are old souls who carry memories of past life times from Lemuria, Atlantis, Egypt or other advanced cultures. Our collective memory banks have images of cataclysm, separation from our loved ones, and violent earth changes. Subconscious fear or resistance may be in our group memory, particularly if we previously associated enlightenment with separation, the downfall of a culture, or persecution in darker times.

We must overcome our connection with the "darkness" of group mass consciousness to achieve the pinnacle that the light can give. We must rise above the energies of the unenlightened consciousness. It is part of the journey from night into light.

Here is a simple exercise from my prosperity class that can be useful in detaching from identification with the mass mind.

Antenna Exercise

This exercise is meant to aid in separating your consciousness from mass consciousness.

1) Imagine that you are at your home with a short AM radio tower. The broadcasts that you receive are very limited and probably not what you would like to hear. You are hearing what the people in your immediate area desire as a resonance.

2) Imagine that your radio antenna is growing and lengthening. It reaches far, far into the sky. Now you can pick up classical music, jazz and the most enlightening broadcasts. Feel the difference in your energy and hold this place. You can repeat this exercise as often as you like.

Streaming

The new Aquarian energy can be similar to data streaming on the internet. We are watching, listening or participating with the cosmic energies before they are completed downloaded or present. When we "feel" the possibility of a difficulty or undesirable emotion, we tend to "stream" our energies in the direction of the problem. Streaming could include focusing on our anxieties or problems unconsciously, but we forget that our energy flows like an underground stream, causing unwanted emotions to build without awareness, like a subterranean pond surfacing in the middle of the road. We can't go around it or build a bridge quickly, but we can float over it or redirect the flow.

Here is a simple exercise that I find particularly useful.

Exercise:

1) When thinking about the future, notice the energy that you send toward the future. Feel the sensation of intense focus, the streaming of the energy into a direction. (Most of us have a particular direction that we associate with others and the future.)

2) Think of calling a friend that you like and notice how you stream energy. What is the direction? What is the sensation? Now, think of a person with whom you have conflict or anxiety. Notice how you stream energy in their direction. What does the energy feel like? Get a clear read so that you can identify it easily.

3) Now, pull all of the particles of the energy stream back into your field. Allow your body to absorb the particles of energy into your cells. Notice the feeling of grounding, calmness and quiet.

4) If you are working with a manifestation or intention, practice visualization 1 or 2x daily. If you begin to reflect on the manifestation, remember that a daily practice is usually all that is needed. Pull the energy back throughout the day, as you may be checking to see if it is working.

I believe that we are becoming more active, effective co-creators. The light that has been gained through group consciousness has energized our daily thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, we're programmed to actively energize negative thoughts and emotions. When I "look" at the energy field of individuals, I see that most of us are "streaming" toward events, people and activities that cause mild to moderate anxiety. In other words, we subconsciously create more anxiety and fear through streaming.

By pulling the energy back into our field, the streaming effect is weakened. It also slows the effect of the acceleration of time, as documented in the Mayan Calendar. Try the exercise for one week and notice how time seems to slow down.

Moving into the Positive

Personally, I philosophically subscribe to a system of substituting positive thoughts, feelings and sensations for the negative inner dialog, emotions, words and physical sensations. I don't think that if I hold good thoughts in general about life that life will respond, or that if I casually believe that everything will work out that it will.

I do believe that reality follows my thoughts, emotions, intentions and attention and that "reality" mirrors our energies of our beliefs. I do believe in recycling energy by raising its frequency and also in manifesting the reality that aligns with my personal happiness. This is far more complex than it sounds. While it may sound like a Polly-Anna euphemistic world view that excludes esoteric understanding of duality and polarity, this couldn't be any further from the truth.

Duality and/or polarity are the basis for creation in the material world. Without duality, we would lack a body and the earth, itself. It is the balancing of the forces of duality within one's physical body, emotions, thoughts and spirituality that raise the vibrations of our being so that we can perceive the unseen or the Divine.

A Final Word: Love

Everyone sees the unseen in proportion to the clarity of his heart, and that depends upon how much he has polished it. — Rumi

Truth is simple. Truth can only be found within. It is already "within us", but it lies hidden and awaiting the moment of our awakening. Truth has power. When truth is found by the heart, it is perceived as love. Love and power intertwined are wisdom. Love tempers power so that it is rightfully used in tandem with universal law for the benefit of all.

Love is the most expansive force in the Universe. In alchemy, it is said that love is the universal solvent. It dissolves everything into its original nature, which is love. When all else fails, turn to love. Love is the opposite of fear. When we move into love, we raise our vibrations to a frequency that fear and chaos cannot touch or disturb.

It is the substance that underlies the composition of every particle of matter in the Universe. The true source of all is love, which can never fail us if we petition it with our heart, mind, soul, and body. It is by walking through love and opening our hearts that we will find the way.
