Spirit of Ma'at Updated November 29, 2001

If you feel in your heart that you want to help, please know that we need you. Send us an email (webmaster@spiritofmaat.com), and tell us how you would like to contribute. Perhaps we can find a way in which your input can truly make a difference.

Skills Needed

  • Writers -- see Contributor Guidelines. We need writers who understand the journalistic format, who can conduct an interview or do research and write an article that grips the reader and leads him through. We wish to give our readers stories and information that will inspire them and give them hope. Our main approach is through interviewing people whose names are well known or who have proven themselves through well-accepted books, research, inventions, or other proactive accomplishments.

  • Internet Research. Much of our research will be conducted by searching the World Wide Web. You could do this at home in your spare time, helping us to locate information.

  • Translators. We had intended to publish the Spirit of Ma'at in several languages, but this task has proved beyond the capabilities of our limited personnel. Perhaps at some more profitable time in the future we can revisit this intent.

  • Subscriptions. Subscribing and then interacting with the Spirit of Ma'at is probably the single most powerful thing you can do to help, and for those of you who have already subscribed, you have our heartfelt thanks.

  • Seed Capital. The Spirit of Ma'at is published by Spirit of Ma'at L.L.C. There are still opportunities for investment in this corporation. Contact us if you are interested.

  • Monetary Contributions. Any amount that you might wish to donate will be very much appreciated.

  • Contributor Guidelines

    • Subject Matter: Articles and proprosals for articles should be related to one of the subjects in the list that follows (see List). This is a tentative list of magazine topics coming up. It is not final, and we have made no decisions about the order in which these topics will be covered. Note that some of the list topics reflect past magazines — we will always be open to publishing new articles as updates to previous magazines. The list is in alphabetical order.

    • Article Proposals: Proposals should explain the "hook" of your article, with an outline of the article you propose to write. Photographs or other graphics will be considered a plus. Please discuss your sources, and your qualifications with regard to the subject matter.

    • Writing Samples: If you have not published in the Spirit of Ma'at before, your proposal also should be accompanied by copies of at least three published articles that you have written.

    • Pre-written Articles: Feel free to submit a pre-written article on any listed subject.

    • Formats: We will accept submissions in text (txt) or rich text (rtf) formats. If your article is in Microsoft Word, go back and SAVE AS rich-text format (rtf) and send that to us, not the Word format (".doc") document. The reason for this is that higher-level word processor documents are extremely vulnerable for carrying viruses.

    • Payment: At the present time, only staff writers -- those who receive assignments from the magazine -- are receiving payment for writing. Other contributors receive complimentary subscriptions to the magazine. This may change, and all payment is by prior arrangement.

May God bless you and what will come from this endeavor. And may the readers of the Spirit of Ma'at find what they truly need to know in order to keep on growing closer to the Source. And may all of our lives be uplifted in a healing way, both for ourselves and for all life on Mother Earth.

For although we are separated by physical distance and by our talents and interests, in this adventure of Life, we are all together as One.

    In Love and Service,

    Drunvalo Melchizedek
    Editor-in-Chief
