Ancestral Healing

I was waking up with night terrors. But these were different from ones in the past.
I'd wake up feeling, tasting and experiencing absolute fear.
Then fear would fly off me like cards in a deck. Each fear uniquely identified as one card and flying so fast off my body I couldn't distinguish exactly what it was.
I kept thinking, I never knew I had so much fear.
The third time in the same night when I awoke trembling, exhausted, feeling ill, I had a brief flash of one of the fear cards.
That's when I realized the fear I was apparently clearing and releasing was not mine.
The glimpse I had was from my aunt's perspective of her kidnapping, an event that happened before my eyes as a two year old.
I saw from her perspective albeit briefly, the man with the sawed off shotgun, demanding money, grabbing her arm and hustling her out the door in front of him. I heard the wailing behind of the surrounding adults. I tasted the terror in my aunt's mouth. And felt the resolve not to die just yet.
I realized in that moment that somewhere I had agreed to clear ancestral fear.
It wasn't a conscious decision.
But it was real.
The night terrors continued, sometimes accompanied by fevers, alternatively just sleeplessness.
Until I had a revelation through a shamanic journey.
(A shamanic journey is a connection to one's helping spirits through the hypnotic beat of a drum.)
The focus of this particular journey was to heal ancestral patterns that needed healing. Whatever Spirit decided was most important to heal.
To do this, I drummed a steady rhythmic beat to lull my mind into a theta state.
I figured I would meet some very ancient ancestors and we'd dance around the fire.
To my surprise, as soon as the drum began, I felt myself turning into a column of light. Reaching upwards, my light disappeared into the darkness of space where I was greeted by my Arcturian ancestor.
No name, I just instantly recognized his essence.
Compassionately, he reached toward me saying, "Where in the world did you get the idea that you are responsible for clearing up everyone's stuff?"
I just looked at him with askance and reached out to hold his hands.
Immediately, I saw myself as a heat envelope within the galaxy. I wasn't sure if I was a star, planet or just what. Floating among the stars and interstellar bodies.
I was saying as I floated, " I can heal this! I can heal that!"
Joyfully.
Because I could.
I saw my path as a path of service and healing.
And for some reason I thought that if I saw something that needed to be done, I could and would do it.
"Why would you think yourself responsible to heal other people's stuff?" He asked gently.
This was such an ancient pattern in me, it took me awhile to figure out what he meant.
Then I got it.
I said, still in my journey, "I chose not to be responsible for anyone else's stuff but my own."
He nodded.
I repeated it louder and stronger, feeling the understanding of it begin to permeate my being.
And I repeated it in the retelling of my journey afterward to the group.
It was only later that I began to see this experience in a new light, at a much deeper level.
Yes, I can help clear and heal other's stuff.
My ancestor's stuff.
My stuff.
Stuff around me.
Pollution, both environmental and individual.
But where is the responsibility on the part of others?
If I do this for them, what do they learn from it?
That to not clear or heal their stuff doesn't matter because someone else will take care of it?
Isn't that one reason our world is in such a mess right now? Because of a lack of personal responsibility?
And does it help me to do it for them? Sure I'm of service, but I'm exhausted and not able to see the blessings behind anything because these aren't my lessons!
Enabling the world to the nth degree!
I choose to be responsible only for my stuff.
If everyone chooses self-responsibility, and cleans up their stuff, our world will heal itself faster.
And THAT is the TRUE ANCESTRAL HEALING!
