True Message from the "Heart of the World"
From Robert Dakota and Tara
After speaking with visual artist, sacred ceremony filmmaker, and World ViewZ videographer, Robert Dakota, it became very evident that I had to write something about the loud, clear, and urgent plea for financial support coming from the Heart of the World Indigenous tribes.
Robert explained that when he was filming the Mayan Elders gathering at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala 2007, he, along with the rest of Drunvalo Melchizedek's group, had the great honor and privilege to personally meet and spend time with the Elder brothers from the Arhauco & Kogi Mamos of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. He has graciously included a link to share the footage from that meeting.
The snowcapped peaks of the Sierra Nevada where these Indigenous tribes live are in the world's largest costal microcosm of South America.
This sacred area hosts the continent's entire ecosystem and is considered the Mother of the Universe.
It is believed that their land and spiritual rituals act as the "Guardians of the World".
"The mountain's health controls the health of the entire planet"
Their devotional culture of peace and harmony with nature and their surroundings is believed to help maintain the balance, health and fertility of life in the entire world.
The care and stewardship of all things in nature is of paramount importance and these Indigenous tribes believe that it is their primary responsibility.
Recently, a select few of the Kogi and Arhauco Mamos traveled all the way to Sedona, Arizona to attend the Return of the Ancestors Gathering (April 2009) They came in person to share an urgent message: they are on the brink of collapse and are in desperate need of financial support.
During the last few decades they have suffered from a series of different forms of external invasions that have affected their traditional way of life and ecosystem.
The formidable cultures of modern day civilizations are closing in on their ancestral and sacred lands, which they claim sustains the existence of all humanity.
"If they go, we go" is their ever-gentle yet consistent stern message.
The Heart of the World foundation has been established to raise funds to support the protection of traditional knowledge and practices of the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada region.
