You Don't Need a Lawyer, but It Can Be Helpful To Understand
THE PART OF YOUR SOUL LEGALLY INCARNATE

There are so many systems already in existence to define what a soul is and how our personality and body relate to our soul. Within the various traditions that I have studied, I've come to recognize that when I sense someone's soul, I am sensing a level of their being that is beyond what can be contained in their physical body.

Remember, the soul exists in all dimensions of our reality. Some aspect of our soul is always in the upper dimensions. Some aspect of our soul is always in the lower dimensions. Who we are is larger than the portion of our soul being hosted by our 3rd dimensional body.

When I look at the soul psychically, I see a level of energy much more complex and profound than what can fit into a single body. During a group meditation with one of my teachers, author and Seth channel John Friedlander, the group began to see the soul as being made up of a series of individual energies. These were defined by some participants as rivers or streams, by another as party streamers. I found the description of the soul as a collection of party streamers both accurate and oddly humorous.

Over the years, I realize that I see the soul which exists within someone's physical body as about one-tenth of the total energy that makes up their larger soul. This is not the same as what some refer to as the Monad. The monad, as I understand it, is a higher aspect of the soul, situated closer to God. The larger soul that I refer to appears to exist entirely within a broad but homogenous level of consciousness. It is composed of both the hundred party streamers which are inhabiting a physical human body, and an additional nine hundred party streamers busy with other things.

Right here and now, your body is hosting a portion of your larger soul. To keep the numbers easy, lets say that the larger soul is made up of 1,000 party streamers. Only one-tenth of the larger soul can fit into a human body. Therefore at any given point in time the human body contains 100 of those 1,000 party streamers.

Starting about 10,000 years ago, we chose which of the 100 party streamers were going to incarnate into our human body and these same 100 party streamers remained in our body throughout our lifetime. Then something happened. In about 1450 the planet began to experience the spiritual energies returning. As we approach the complete reconnection to spirit in 2012, we have much greater access to all of the dimensions, and to a quality of fluid consciousness that let's us move between them. One result is that we can now swap or exchange the party streamers that inhabit our physical bodies for others residing within our larger soul.

Our larger soul is made up of 1,000 portions or party streamers. Only 100 can fit into a human body at a given time. What if we could start with a set of party streamers that reflect our larger soul's need to experience birth and infancy? Then, in the first year of infancy, a few of those party streamers may be exchanged. We release those portions or party streamers of our soul that only wanted to experience birth, and bring in an equivalent number of party streamers or portions of our soul that want to experience infancy. Just as a few portions of the soul may want to have a do-over of kindergarten, other portions may want to try the adolescent teen years again. Each time we release a few party streamers, a few more enter.

In this way I see that the soul exchanges parts of itself within a single body. Rather than die and reincarnate, our larger soul simply swaps out portions of itself so that it can experience whatever it feels is useful for the larger soul. Every time I read for someone about a tragedy in their life, I am reminded that our souls seek a complete picture of what it is to be human. As much as a soul can laugh, it has to grieve. We live in a polarized world. In order for the soul to experience joy some aspect of it in some lifetime must experience sorrow. Mature souls chose to stretch themselves into the depths of despair so that in another lifetime the soul can experience the soaring glory of ecstasy.

Understanding that our soul's ability to experience joy is based upon our soul's experience of sorrow is one way of helping us honor the cycle of creation that we are contained within. This can be particularly helpful when we are watching a friend or beloved family member experiencing the depths of despair that some souls choose to explore. The years going into and just beyond 2012 are the last years of separation and polarity for our planet. Therefore, those souls who want to explore the depths of despair are choosing to do so now.

When one or more portions of the soul or party streamers is exchanged I see it as a soul shift. Our experience may be not to notice it at all, or to notice only a short-term confusion. Most of us dismiss it as getting older, or not having had our morning coffee. You will go to do something you normally do, such as put the key in the car ignition or operate an ATM machine, and it will feel foreign to you. The new part of you is integrating the human experience. Most soul shifts occur while we are sleeping. Typically just a few party streamers or portions of the soul depart, and a few more enter. The transition is seamless, and for the most part we are unaware that it has occurred.

From time to time a large portion of the soul will depart. This may never happen, or happen a few times in a lifetime. I did once have a rather large portion of my soul shift while channeling for a very long 3 day intensive workshop. I knew it had occurred when at the end of the workshop I stared at the sign "women" on the restroom door and didn't know what it meant! I realized I was trying to read the Braille symbols, rather than the English language sign. The new portion of my soul was more at home with the dash and dot symbols of Braille than with the English language alphabet. Fortunately the rest of my legally incarnating soul parts knew what a restroom was!

Occasionally the soul shift will be so large that there is a change in careers, marriage, eating habits, and life-style. In these cases those friends and family left behind did nothing wrong. The part of the soul incarnating in the body simply finished the journey, and rather than die, the body received other aspects of the soul. If you have witnessed this process in a loved-one, please know that the part of their soul that loved you still loves you, and they are simply needing to complete much more in this lifetime than just the contracts and loving commitments they had with you. As you can release them into their next cycle, they learn and grow, and bring that new experience back to the part of the soul that you knew.

Some of our other 900 party streamers or soul parts are engaged in consciously living as individuated beings in another dimension on another planet. Typically we seem to have one to three unique bodies or consciousness forms extending from our single larger soul into this Earth or another planet at any given time. Of course, whatever aspect of ourselves is now incarnate in a higher dimension on Venus won't have a body as we experience it here on Earth. And yet there is a unique aspect of our consciousness created out of our soul that is experiencing itself as an upper dimensional being living on Venus. And parts of that being's soul may at some point leave, rejoin the large soul, and then head over to Earth and enter into our body.

I believe that when portions of our soul are exchanged with other portions that have recently experienced life elsewhere, an energetic imprint from the other life comes into our psychic awareness. We may interpret this in dreams or vague sensations, as well as the natural changes in interests or habits that accompany soul shifts. Some may take it to the extreme and search out ways to contact the other being that they feel is themselves. At the present time I prefer to acknowledge the individuality of each body or consciousness created by the larger soul, and not try to create any conscious connection. The portions of my soul legally incarnating here on Earth have incarnated here for a purpose, and I prefer to focus on that purpose.

People often ask me about parallel lives here on Earth. At this point I have yet to see a circumstance where a soul incarnating now into a human body on Earth has a second human body it is also incarnating into at the same time. If we have one body here on Earth, our other bodies will be related to other planets, most likely in other dimensions. There are instances of portions of the same soul bleeding through from alternate realities, especially when the choices which created those realities led to difficult situations. This can led to stagnation and a nagging sense of unresolved issues, without being able to mentally articulate the issues. I deal with this more in the section on Alternate Realities.

Any discussion of soul shifts naturally includes the subject of 'walk-ins'. From time to time the soul that starts a physical body leaves it entirely, and a new soul enters. This happens two ways. In the moments of a near-death experience one soul exits in a final breath and the new soul enters on the first natural breath taken by the body. A new soul can also enter a body over the course of several days while the body is in a coma. This process lasts 2-3 days. A soul that walks into a body usually has an ongoing relationship with the soul that is already in the body. Not all near death experiences result in the exchange of souls. Some do result in large portions of the already legally incarnating soul returning to the larger soul, and new portions entering.

I use the term 'legally' incarnate because it sharpens up the energy boundary of the portions of the soul that are choosing to be in the physical body. Since various parts of the soul come and go throughout our lives, defining the exact portions running the body at a given time is crucial. For example, only a few of the hundred party streamers of the soul that are in our body at birth are still incarnating into our body by the time we reach adulthood. So healing according to the original set of 100 party streamers that were with us at birth does not reflect our legally incarnating soul parts at age 20.

Each party streamer or portion of our soul has a desire to experience something in order to bring that knowledge back to our larger soul. Each portion also has guides and angels associated with it, in order to facilitate the completion of its task. Ideally each time a portion of our soul departs, it is because its task was completed. A portion of our soul that wanted to experience being born will celebrate its successful birth, and depart, making room for a portion of the soul that wants to experience infancy and the tenderness of being cared for by others. Meanwhile, other portions will remain unchanged, as they may seek a journey of understanding the transition from dependence upon another as an infant to the independence found in walking as a toddler. Some of these same portions may remain to experience the angst of puberty and even the rebellion of being a teenager.

Remember, it is only recently that we have had the ability to shift portions of our soul in and out of our bodies during a single lifetime. And it is not something that our personality has conscious control over. If it were so, would any of us consciously choose to live through the teen years again? Probably not. It is the larger soul that offers the different portions of our soul the opportunity to continue to learn and grow by dipping into and out of our human bodies.

During healing sessions I use the part or portions of the soul legally incarnate as a reference point to determine what guides and angels are most useful to the client. I do this because each portion of our soul also has a unique set of guides and angels that support the particular journey associated with it. When a portion of the legally incarnating soul departs, the guides or angels associated with that portion of the soul also depart. This allows for new guides and angels related to the new portion of our soul to enter.

But sometimes that does not happen. For various reasons the guides and angels related to other portions of our souls remain. We can and do hold onto guides and angels long after whatever they came to help us do has been done. Perhaps out of habit, or out of a need to surround ourselves with energies that feel familiar, we keep them close. And those guides and angels that are meant to help us right now, with whatever is facing us in this moment, end up farther away from our bodies, despite how hard they are trying to reach us.

In my mind's eye I often see a client in this situation as being surrounded by guides and angels. When I ask for clarification from my healing guides, the image shifts. In the back row, farthest away from the client are their current guides and angels. Dressed in helmets and pads like Sunday afternoon football players, their current guides and angels are trying to break through the rows and rows of out of time or old guides and angels. The client, not understanding what is happening, draws the old guides and angels closer and closer to them for protection. So the current guides try even harder to connect, as they can feel the client's pain and prayers asking them for support.

Over years, and even decades, this creates a sense of density around the person, and a great desire to connect with their guides and angels, as well as a sense of futility. They know that their guides are present, others tell them that their guides are around them, but they can't feel, sense or hear them. Often their psychic ability is overwhelmed by so many energies in too close to their bodies, and shuts down.

The solution is to thank and truly appreciate the out of time guides and angels for the role they played in getting us to wherever we are in our larger soul's journey today. Things may not be perfect, but by offering a sense of gratitude to those who have supported us, we allow them to release. And as they release, those guides and angels that reflect the challenges we face now are more able to reach us.

ALTERNATE REALITIES

When a choice that we have made turns out to create pain for ourselves or another, we have a hard time releasing the guides and angels related to the portion of the soul which made that choice. Our personality wants to remake the choice, or undo the result. And so we will hang onto the guides and angels as one way to change the outcome of the choice.

But they cannot do that for us. Understanding that the larger soul desires to experience the fullness of all possible sensations, both good and bad, is one way to comprehend that when we experience sorrow it is a gift shared with our larger soul. And when we experience joy, that is also shared with our larger soul. The soul desires to experience itself as fully as possible. The only way to do that is by delving into all the possibilities of life here on Earth.
