A Call to the Soul

My Grandmother is nearly 102 years old. She has been wandering between the worlds for many years. The nurses reported that she was hearing voices more than 15 years ago. As she recounted how her air conditioner told her what my nephews were doing in school, I remember thinking that the information she was receiving was absolutely accurate. It was the source of the information, the air conditioner, that was of concern to all of us!

When I sang to her last month in her nursing home she came out of her Alzheimer stupor and recognized me and others around her. Today she recognized me as soon as I entered her room. As I sang to her again this afternoon several new songs flowed through me. It is as if the music is drawn through me while she, in turn, is drawn into her physical form. Our meeting place is the song.

It is such a joy to see her fully present in her eyes. Seeing the light of her soul beaming through her opens my heart and brings me such joy. As I sang today, she began to look up and point to the wafting energies moving around the room. Angels, some might call them.

To the best of my ability, I drew this song, which she enjoyed today, back in from Spirit. It is a call for the soul to return home, not into heaven or some far off paradise, but to enter into the Earth, so that Heaven might sing through us again upon the Earth. I believe that for my Grandmother and others with dementia, the way to gracefully exit the body in the end is to enter into it again more fully.
